Contact surgery during the opening hours: 0191 5689510. Emergency appointments are usually available to be booked at 8:00am and 12 noon each day. Please only request an Emergency appointment if your problem is a genuine emergency.
Recognising if your child is seriously ill
When surgery is closed, telephone 111.
If it is a medical emergency (heart attack, stroke, severe shortness of breath at rest or loss of consciousness) telephone 999.
When to call 111
You should call 111 when:
- You think you need to go to A&E or to another NHS urgent care service
- Your GP surgery is closed and you need healthcare advice
- You don’t know who to call for medical help.
When to call 999
Call 999 for life threatening emergencies such as:
- Major accident or trauma
- Severe breathlessness
- Severe bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- If you think you are having a heart attack.
- If you think you are having a stroke.
